What stood out positively about this experience?

Individual staff member are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about their surgeons, equipment, preferences and supplies.

What improvements are needed?

They have a CTL there that intentionally sabotages surgical tech she doesn’t like to play “hero” to surgeons because it makes her look good. She’s been reported MULTIPLE times for unprofessional conduct, harassment, and inciting workplace violence. And even with multiple safe watches written about her NOTHING has been done from management or HR. She is the main reason a lot of good travelers and staff leave or refuse to scrub her rooms (she’s in charge of Ortho Trauma and Ortho spine)

What advice would you give future healthcare professionals considering this facility?

Stay away from Carilion if you scrub Ortho and are a young, skinny woman who is good at her job.
